John (owner/head chef) is the most ginuine human being. as soon as you walk in you’ll love the place. From the high energy from the Whole staff and your new best friend with the goofy pants ;) Not to mention the best hamburger in Northern California! Truly a local secret and they Must try for the first timer!!!

Every single thing we ate was amazing. 4 adults and a toddler and no one had a single complaint. Amazing burger, the potato cheese soup was fantastic. Fries were spot on. Sad we hadn't been here sooner.

Old Town Grill in Placerville has been there for years. An extremely popular small cafe. Famous for great burgers. The owner/chef (aka was chef for Sacramento Kings) is an awesome friendly guy. His Chef coat hangs on the rear dining room wall.

From the moment you enter that restaurant they give you an excellent feeling. Very warm hosts, it is a good place to to go out with buddies or with your date. yummy meals, experienced chief cook and stuff, competitive pay and generous service. Highly recommended.

It was a beaut of a day. We decided to go to downtown Placerville for lunch. Placerville has lots of great restaurants now. We parked in the convenient garage. The streets were filled with people. We saw Old Town Grill and entered. You order at the front. The grill was being worked by a couple of pros. They were awesome and talked to customers while working the flames. We seated ourselves in the cute outdoor patio. I had the Chicken Pesto with Garlic Fries and my wife had the Salmon salad. The food was superb. I've had Garlic Fries before but not like these; these were like twice fried or something. Definitely not french fries with raw garlic dumped on. The garlic was like cooked first or something. The sandwich was on a baguette or frocia bread with lettuce, tomato, and pesto. The chicken was cooked perfect. Wife wanted mine but hers was awesome too. I took pictures of the cooks but I blew it somehow. They have lots of cast iron pans hanging.

Don't go during the heat of the day. There is no air conditioning and it is steamy. The food was above average, but the service was slow.

One of the best places to eat in Placerville! Food is always delicious and fresh. A great standard menu with a good selection of daily specials to choose from while the ingredients to make them are still available. A must for locals and definitely a place for passers through to try if they can. The Smith Flat House is another of this owner's restaurants and is a great place to have a great dinner as well.

Welcome to flavor country. Looking for the best burger in El Dorado County. Here it is at the Old Town Grill. Owner and maker of the hearty meals,Jonathan, is a humble and gracious chef and host. The staff is so friendly and makes you feel very welcome upon your arrival.The milkshakes are made thick and creamy the old fashioned way. So good. The burgers are made with quality beef and the fries made to order. The grill also offers daily specials. You can even enjoy buffalo or elk. Definitely out of my comfort zone but worth the try.Enjoy old town Placerville comfort food. You too will want to become a regular. But the grill is only open from 11am-3pm daily, so plan your day to enjoy a great lunch. Also, as a side note, there is a back patio for a relaxing meal on those sunny and beautiful days in El Dorado County.

The staff and John, the owner and chef, are friendly. I have no idea how John remembers everyone's name. His staff is an extension of his openness! This place is is as if Cheers was transformed into a burger place!!!

Beef was not grass fed or organic. Frozen Patty. Not quite as bad as burger King but you could buy four whoppers for the price of one of their burgers. Meat was way over cooked and it was literally 90 degrees in the restaurant. I went here a long time ago and it was great now no more not worth the money or the sweat you build sitting in the sauna to eat

You want a REAL old fashioned burger with charming old fashioned service? Then Old Town Grill is a must for you! Great food and the backyard patio is an excellent venue to enjoy it as well!

John and Jeannie really make this place what it is. Best grass fed beef burger in the county!! John was serving us our food, and as he was helping another customer nearby we began to bless our meal with prayer. He stopped at our table put his hands on both of our shoulders bowed his head and prayed with us. When we finished we both looked up at him and he smiled and said, isn't God great?! I'm a customer for life.

Delicious food and friendly staff. The outdoor patio seating is dog friendly (enter from the side alley) and a cozy place to eat on a warm afternoon. Counter service is easy, and the owner is engaging. He remembers everyone. Names and faces. It's amazing, and really adds to that home town feel.

Old Town grill has the highest quality service and most delicious food. My family regularly eats at Old Town for lunch. John and his staff are friendly and helpful. I have never had a bad meal at John's and I recommend Old Town to everyone I know. My favorites are the Oriental Chicken Salad, Mushroom Swiss burger, and Thompson's Snowshoe Fries, but you cannot go wrong with anything you order. They also cater the most delicious food and we love their other restaurant, Smith Flat House, too. I only have great things to say about John and Old Town Grill!

Thank goodness the take out was still open! The family and I look forward to come here. It’s one of our Favorites in town! Hands down best fries and cheese burgers. Thanks for being and amazing community member!

Lots of choices. Great downtown location. A little something for just about everyone. From specials of the day to the standards, our lunch was good. A good stop on the way to a vacation at Lake Tahoe!

Every meal I have gotten here has been fantastic. The staff here are attentive and friendly. The owner John takes the extra step to learn customer names. During your meal you can see dozens of regulars coming in for a meal. John always takes the time to say hello and give a smile. If you haven't eaten here your missing out in perhaps the best burgers in California.
